Any claim regarding the sale, export, or transfer of arms by Iran to the Russian Federation is completely baseless and categorically rejected. Iran once again emphasizes its unwavering commitment to adhering to international humanitarian law.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, in a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council on Wednesday, 14th of Shahrivar (September 4), stated: Any claim regarding Iran's involvement in the sale, export, or transfer of arms to the Russian Federation and the violation of its international obligations is completely baseless and categorically rejected.

During the UN Security Council meeting on August 30, 2024, held under the topic "Threats to International Peace and Security" and focused on the issue of Western arms supplies to Ukraine (S/PV.9716), representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, and France once again made coordinated, baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In response to these accusations, Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran's representative to the UN, in a letter to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, declared these accusations misleading, completely baseless, and rejected. In the letter, the Iranian representative stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers these accusations merely a reflection of the limited and short-sighted political agendas of these three permanent members of the Security Council, aimed at securing their own political interests—a matter clearly evident from their past actions in the Security Council.
